Indian Army organised braveheart Maj VK Rana, SM Inter School Kho­Kho and Volleyball Competition for girls at Mendhar, Poonc

YB News Jammu,Oct 30 Indian Army organised Inter School Kho-Kho and Volleyball Competition for girl students at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Mendhar in District Poonch (J&K). The competition, conducted over two days from 28 - 29 Oct 2022, was dedicated to the memory of Braveheart Maj VK Rana, SM who laid down his life in the service of the nation. Four teams from Mendhar Tehsil participated in the tournament. The teams from GGHS, Mendhar giving a good account of themselves, stood first in Volleyball and second in Kho Kho, while teams from Govt High School, Dharana won Kho Kho and Gohlad Club stood second in Volleyball. The tournament provided an opportunity to girls of Mendhar region to display their sporting talent. The competition also generated immense enthusiasm amongst the girl students, who were seen motivating their respective teams. During the prize distribution ceremony, held on culmination of the tournament, Winner and Runner Up teams were presented with medals and trophies, while certificates of participation were awarded to all players. Principals of the participating Schools and spectators expressed gratitude towards the Indian Army for conducting the competition.
