Army conducts Village Defence Group Meet

YB News Ramban,July 13 Indian Army organised an interactive session with Village Defence Group members of Ramban district. Large number of Village Defence Group members of Khari and Ramsoo block participated in the event. Discussion on matters pertaining to security and regional stability was carried out in detail. Village Defence Group members were apprised of security environment with special emphasis on Amarnath yatra and recent apprehension of Laskar-e-Taiba dreaded terrorists by common villagers of Tucsan. Village Defence Groups have played a significant part in assisting the forces in Counter Terrorism Operations earlier, thus, they have immensely contributed in establishment of peace and harmony. The event was also optimally utilised for imparting training on weapon maintenance. Towards the end, Village Defence Group members paid their gratitude to Indian Army for the initiative and vowed for their continued assistance in maintaining peace in the region.
