Army inaugurates carpenter course

YBNews Kishtwar,Jan 18 Indian Army has been constantly undertaking a variety of programmes for the locals of the region with special focus on employment generation. In continuing with the same, Indian Army inaugurated a three month Carpenter Course at Thatri on 17 January 2022 in Kishtwar. This training programme is being attended by eight locals hailing from farflung areas of Thatri region. The project aims to provide the basic working knowledge of the craft alongwith basic applications of various tools, equipment machinery and techniques used in manufacturing of wooden furniture. Apart from the representatives of Indian Army, the event was attended by Tehsildar district- Doda, Mr Sahil Randhawa and SSB Inspector Bhism Dev. Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony the Mr Sahil Randhawa said that this effort by Indian Army will go a long way in bringing greater communal and social harmony in the region. The Inspector Bhism Dev also brought out that the locals of underdeveloped remote expanses are also looking forward to become self reliant and strive hard to improve themselves and their family’s quality and standard of life. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Indian Army for the project. The conduct of such training will go a long way in helping the unemployed youth of the area to find gainful self employment and also encourage entrepreneurship amongst participants.
