New Delhi, Jan 9 India's Test team members arrived in Cape Town on Saturday as they gear up for the 3rd Test against South Africa in Cape Town from January 11. The team landed departed from Johannesburg and arrived in Cape Town via a chartered plane as Covid-19 protocols are being followed by the two teams in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on social media, India players can be seen getting a grand welcome at the team hotel. A group of musicians were seen playing traditional drums while more music followed the team as they entered the hotel on Saturday. India will continue to spend time in the bio-bubble atmosphere as they train for the 3rd Test at the Newlands in Cape Town. Meanwhile, South Africa Test team members also touched down in Cape Town on Saturday. India will look to bounce back from the defeat in the 2nd Test in Johannesburg when the two teams meet for one last time in the series finale at the iconic venue in Cape Town. India took a 1-0 lead with a convincing 113-run win in Centurion, becoming the first Asian team to win at the SuiperSport Park last year. However, South Africa came up with a strong comeback, gunning down a record 240- run target in the final innings of the 2nd Test at the Wanderers. Dean Elgar led from the front, hitting an unbeaten 96 as South Africa got past the finish line with 7 wickets to spare on Day 4 of the rain-affected 2nd Test. India will have to script history once again if they are to win their first-ever Test series in South Africa as the Asian side has never won a Test match in Cape Town. India have played 5 Tests at Newlands and have lost 3 of them while managing a draw twice. India are likely to be bolstered by the return of captain Virat Kohli who missed the 2nd Test due to a back spasm.
