New Delhi, Jan 5 Former India opener Aakash Chopra questioned Rishabh Pant's approach on Day 3 of the 2nd Test against South Africa, saying the young wicketkeeper let Team India down by throwing his wicket away at a crucial juncture. Pant got out for 0, trying to hit a charged up Kagiso Rabada out of the Wanderers by skipping down in just the 3rd delivery of his knock. Rishabh Pant was slammed by Sunil Gavaskar on-air as the former captain said there is no excuse that the wicketkeeper can give for playing that shot and getting out when India needed someone to occupy the crease as Kagiso Rabada had gotten the wickets of well-set Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in quick succession. Speaking to Star Sports, Aakash Chopra said Rishabh Pant should have shown restraint, understanding the situation instead of trying to take the attack to Rabada, who was bowling full stream after those two wickets. Pant was disappointed with himself after the dismissal as he let out his frustration while walking back to the dressing room on Wednesday. "Honestly, we all say that's his natural game. My way or the highway but that just doesn't cut it," Chopra said. "Honestly, there are two non-negotiables in international cricket - respect the conditions and respect the situation. If you have just lost two wickets, this is not how why you respect the situation. You don't just charge down a bowler who has got his tail up.
