YB WEB DESK. Dated: 11/24/2021 1:41:21 PM

Jammu, Nov 23 Welcoming government’s decision of merging 2000 schools to strike a balance between teacher-student ratio, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that all previous governments had made a mockery of the education department wherein schools were opened without considering the need or staff strength. This had resulted in mushrooming growth of schools in the most unplanned manner. Raman Suri said that the previous governments like that of NC, PDP, Panthers Party or even Congress had made transfers in education department an industry, and to adjust their blue-eyed fellows, they had even gone to the extent of opening new schools without considering the their need, staff strength or even student-intake capacity. He said, this had resulted in sheer mess in the entire education department due to which teachers and lecturers are suffering till date. Raman Suri said, the merger of schools as directed by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will not only justify the studentteacher ratio but also enhance quality of education. He said, there are several teachers who are working at the same place for over eight years and many have not been transferred even once after joining their first place of posting. This is what needs to be set right.
