Locals imparted training in lavender farming

YB News Doda, Nov 22 As part of welfare activities, Indian Army has been constantly undertaking a variety of projects for the welfare of village populace. In pursuance of this noble aim and in order to impart training and generate employment for youth and poor farmers from the socially and economically backward strata of the society, in field of Lavender Farming, a project ‘Lavender Farming’ organised by Indian Army at Bhalla in district Doda for the duration of three months. A total of 21 village farmers attended the same. Such initiatives will improve the surrounding environment of the area and will greatly help in generating employment opportunities to people from socially and economically backward families and simultaneously engage the youth in some constructive activity which is beneficial to them in multiple ways. The villagers expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army for organising a beneficiary project with a huge employment scope. Such efforts of the Indian Army will go a long way in helping the youth of the area in finding gainful employment and to be bread earner for their families.
