Army organizes awareness on World Fisheries Day

YB News Rajouri, Nov 22 Indian Army organised “World Fisheries Day” with the villagers of Chakli, Tarkundi and Peer Baba of Rajouri and Poonch Districts. World Fisheries day is celebrated every year on 21 November in the world. Our aim is to highlight the importance of healthy in land water eco system and to ensure sustainable stock of fisheries in J&K. On the day the villagers were made aware of the Govt Schemes to set up trout fish farms for unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir under policies programme (Pradan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana). This programme conducted by the fisheries department in Rajouri. Awareness was spread in the young minds in regards to the World Fisheries Day. A drawing completion was conducted to explore and enrich their knowledge on aquatic life. The villagers appreciated the initiative and was grateful to the Indian Army for this outreach campaign.
