ARMY ORGANIZES LECTURE ON “GO GREEN INITIATIVE”

Poonch, Nov 16 In line with the global outcry for saving the environment, Indian Army conducted a lecture on ‘Go Green Initiative’ at Govt Higher Secondary School, Mendhar in District Poonch (J&K). As part of the initiative, awareness lecture was conducted for students to familiarize them on importance of trees and the benefits of keeping the environment green by avoiding use of plastics. After the interaction, a pledge was taken by all students to take forward the tree plantation drive in their villages. This initiative by Indian Army has struck a positive cord with the students and is sure to bring about a change in the green cover of the area in the long term.
