New Delhi, Sep 24 India may have lost the series but they will not be treating the last ODI against Australia as a dead rubber, said captain Mithali Raj. India lost the second ODI by the barest of margins, with Australia's Beth Mooney and Nicola Carey taking the winning runs off the last ball. "This was just a great game of cricket played by both the teams. The batting department did very well, Smriti (Mandhana) and Richa (Ghosh) batted very well to get us to 274," said Mithali in the postmatch presentation ceremony. India put up a much improved performance with the bat compared to their first ODI, which they lost by 9 wickets after restricted to 225/8. Mandhana scored 86 while Ghosh later scored 44 to push India to 274/7. The visitors then reduced Australia to 52/4 but Mooney led their fightback with a 126-run stand with Tahlia McGrath and an unbeaten 97-run stand with Carey. Jhulan Goswami seemed to have done the job for India when Carey holed out at midwicket off the last ball with Australia needing three runs to win. However, the delivery was deemed a no-ball for height after which the batters ran two runs to take Australia's 26th successive ODI win. "For me it was a nervous last ball, anything could've happened. We definitely didn't expect the no ball but, I guess it is part of the game. All of us were on the edge. We will continue to put up a show like we did today," said Mithali.
