Anrich Nortje out of quarantine after three negative Covid-19 tests, positive result was false

New Delhi, Apr 16 Delhi Capitals on Friday announced that their South African pacer Anrich Nortje has joined the team's bio-secure bubble, after he tested negative for COVID-19 in 3 successive tests. The 2020 finalists also confirmed that Nortje was positive result in the initial round of testing was false. The 27-year-old had to serve an extended quarantine period due to the same reason. "He's here. Our pace superstar is now out of quarantine. After a false positive result for COVID-19, Anrich Nortje tested negative thrice, and is now part of our team bubble. We can't wait to see him in action #YehHaiNayiDilli #IPL2021 @Anrich- Nortje02 @TajMahal- Mumbai," the DC wrote on their official Twitter profile. Anrich Nortje was one among the IPL-bound players who arrived, from South Africa, last week. These IPL-bound players were a part of South Africa's ODI squad for the home series against Pakistan. South African pace duo Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje arrived in Mumbai last Tuesday (April 6) and joined the Delhi Capitals' team hotel. However, they missed participating in DC's IPL 2021 opening fixture against the Chennai Super Kings due to the mandatory seven-day quarantine period. Later, it was revealed that Nortje tested positive for coronavirus during his 2nd test in the hotel quarantine. In the absence of Nortje, Delhi Capitals' primary pace attack consisted of Kagiso Rabada, Chris Woakes and Avesh Khan in Thursday's match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Rishabh Pant-led Capitals missed Nortje.
