Man targets wife during quarrel, shoots pregnant daughter instead

Chennai, Apr 16 Awoman in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district died after being shot by her father while she was trying to solve a quarrel between him and her mother on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Venkatalakshmi. She got married four months ago and was pregnant. Venkatalakshmi's father, Arunachalam, is a farmer. Arunachalam was reportedly picking quarrels with his wife lately over family matters. Venkatalakshmi was visiting her paternal home when she saw that an argument broke out between her father and mother. Venkatalakshmi saw her father pointing a country-made pistol.
