Soon after the industrialisation era, humans witnessed a boom in economic activities and subsequent developments, which aided the society to experience better a standard of living with the ever-growing convenience of goods and services involved as another aspect ingrained in it. Though such developments may have made life easier and more convenient than ever, all of it comes at a heavy cost, the cost of a sustainable environment. The surge in economic activities has been a global trend lately as more and more countries tend to follow the path of the developed and developing lot of nations which have already implemented the pattern of rapid economic development through the various sectors like manufacturing, pharmaceutical, metal, oil and other industries at the cost of environmental degradation, arising as a direct result of the rise in carbon emissions and other polluting factors. Despite knowing the severe ecological repercussions of these developments, most nations, including the global leaders, have persistently turned a blind eye towards this concern in the past. This has proved to be severely critical for the environment, with the significantly steep rise in pollution levels around the globe compiled with the sensitive problem of rising greenhouse emissions that have created an unsafe and unstable ecosystem, not just for humans but all other species of flora and fauna prevailing on earth. It won’t be wrong to assume human activities as one of the primary reasons for the extinction of various such species. Rectifying this error made from our end as a civilisation is critical to sustaining life on Earth. The adoption of renewable resources is already a well-established reality. Yet, implementing this side-lined source of energy as a mainstream one can immensely prove beneficial as an attempt to restore the ecological balance essential to sustain life on Earth. The rising awareness regarding this concern amongst the newer generations can pave the way for a better environment that is more sustainable, more lively and much more beautiful.
