Vijaypur, Apr 12 Provincial President Jammu, Apni Party, Manjit Singh today condemned selective approach of the authorities on the anti-encroachment drive in Samba where Dalit families were targeted and influential people were shielded. In a statement to the press, Apni Party organized a public meeting at village Swankha in Vijaypur, Samba District in which people highlighted their grave concern over the selective approach of authorities on the name of encroachment drives by targeting the Schedule Caste and downtrodden section of the society. Speaking on the occasion, Former Minister and Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh condemned the attitude of the officials for making the poor people homeless by snatching shelter from them. “Dalit families have been living since last 100 years at Swankha village of Samba. But the administration is after them to make them homeless and on the other hand, the influential people are shielded despite encroachment on water bodies,” said Manjit Singh after listening to the grievances of the poor people. “The departments who launch such drives against the poor have no courage to remove encroachment on the land of influential people having links in power corridors,” said Manjit Singh. He questioned the selective approach of some officials who are responsible for the suffering of common man and they are behaving like the autocratic ruler which is highly condemnable.
