DC Poonch reviews Covid-19 control measures

Y B News Poonch, Apr 12 Deputy Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet today chaired a meeting to review the Covid-19 surveillance mechanism and control measures, vaccination process, testing and enforcement of SoPs. The Deputy Commissioner directed sub divisional administration to maintain strict vigilance on the entry and exit points and test all the travelers entering the district. He also called for enforcement of other measures including use of face masks and social distancing at public places including public & private transport, besides strict enforcement of the orders issued from time to time. Nodal officer COVID-19 was directed to work out a mechanism for forming committees under PRIs at block levels to generate mass awareness regarding do's & don’ts to control the spread of the infection. The SDMs and Tehsildars were asked to involve religious leaders for sensitizing the people regarding wearing of masks, maintaining social distance at religious places during Ramdan and motivating people for vaccination and testing. Executive officers of municipalities were asked to start the process of fumigation of religious places having potential of large gatherings. The DC directed the chief medical officer to ensure that the daily target of testing is met and ensure that a smart and strategic sampling is done giving priority to shopkeepers, hoteliers and bankers, where hundreds of people visit on daily basis. The CMO was directed to ensure regular monitoring and provision of necessary equipment to home isolation positive patients and also to keep 150-bed capacity isolation center in ready state at district and block levels. The meeting ended with the directions to officers to show the same spirit as they had shown in first wave in the fight against this virus. The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of police, Vinod Kumar; ADC Dr. Bashrat Hussain; ACR Zahir Kaifi; Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer SDMs, SDPOs, Tehsildars, BMOs, SHOs and Naib Tehsildars.
