Axar Patel is brilliant with his accuracy and has been a real find for India: Sanjay Manjrekar

Ahmedabad, Feb 24 India leg-spinner Axar Patel, playing just his second match after his debut in Chennai in the last Test, was unplayable in the first session of the third Test at the Narendra Modi stadium. He troubled the England batsman with his accuracy and speed and was rewarded with two wickets in the first session of play on Wednesday. The spinner dismissed Jonny Bairstow with his very first delivery of the day when he trapped the batsman in front of the wickets for nought. He followed that up by trapping Zak Crawley, the only batsman who took the attack back to the Indian bowlers with his fifth Test half-century in the first session of play. Former India players such as Sachin Tendulkar and Sanjay Manjrekar applauded the youngster for his bowling in the third Test. “What an over from @akshar2026. Best one of the match so far,” said Sachin Tendulkar referring to the 25th over of the day in which Axar trapped Zak Crawley. Sanjay Manjrekar called him the ‘real find for India in Tests’ and praised the youngster for his accuracy and speed. “Just brilliant with accuracy, speed and his biggest weapon, that arm ball going straight on a turner.. Axar has been a real find for India in Tests. #PinkBallTest,” said Manjrekar.
