Indians and people from Indian origin have emerged as world leaders in numerous firms and MNCs in India as well as overseas. It is nothing short of surprising to see Indians succeed in a field where they were never supposed to. I’m not attempting to demean Indians or neglect their dedication and work ethic by any means. Born and raised as an Indian, it is rare to miss the shortcomings evident clearly, and so is every progress made. Being ruled by the British for nearly two centuries, the education system designed was never intended to produce leaders. It was rather focused towards creating an ethical, competitive and hardworking workforce, loyal towards their superiors, or for that time, their employers, that is the British. It was nothing short of a disaster for our society when we look back at it. However, we never attempted to rectify this error as we almost been neglectingly continued to pursue the same system persistently, which was originally meant to nurture a population of potential employees and not employers. This perception also plays a vital role in terms of the perceived unemployment rate in our nation throughout these years until very recently, when the primary focus shifted from creating jobs to creating business opportunities which in turn create employment opportunities at a much larger scale for the general population. The general population had this realisation of this prospect sooner, especially the upcoming newer generations of individuals. However, government authorities defiantly failed to developed this understanding sooner. It is essential to break out of such restrains hidden beneath the social policies implemented throughout our unpleasant past before attaining independence, almost intentionally aimed at hindering the pace of development. With the latest education policy recently being introduced by the government, and at this time, hope is high towards bringing a change for the better. in a system lagging ages behind, primarily due to its inefficiency. Though the education sector is of utmost importance in a nations development and human resource index, yet treating it with the same weight and priority is also equally essential for it to function optimally. Indian is a nation filled with vast potential, spread across a variety of fields with mot of it still untapped. Capitalizing on this opportunity is deemed essential towards achieving a nation filled with prosperity, peace and development blended in a symphony, at a scale never before witnessed by the world.
