Interschool football tournament U-19 culminates

Y B News Jammu, Nov 30 A 3-day event in memory of Diego Armando Maradona, the world hero of football was organised by International Daily Rising School, Jammu in collaboration with the TRJ Academy, Jammu and the J&K Football Association, culminated on November 30. 9 teams with more than 100 players from Jammu region, Samba and Udhampur participated in the TRJ Gold Cup Trophy Tournament. Out of nine teams the four semi-finalists declared were Inter- Real Huster FC, City FC, Star FC and Udhampur FC. The final face off was betweenCity FC and Star FC, in which City FC emerged as winner with score 2-1 Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, Chief Fencing Coach, Sher-i-Kashmir awardee, was the Chief Guest. He advised the teams to remember that practice always pays off, maintaining team spirit is a must and last but not the least, participants must learn to bounce back in case they do not win. The special guest was Atul Pangotra, commonwealth medalist, Sher-i-Kashmir Awardee. He congratulated the players and hoped this event would inspire a lot more young talent to come forward and be a part of it in the years to come. The guests of honour were Narinder Gupta, Chairman of JKFA, Intikhab Alam AIFF instructor and Yousuf Don, Secretary JKFA The three day Inter-School Football Competition culminated by felicitating the champions with trophies, medals and certificates. The participants made the event paramount by their irresistible exuberance and enthusiasm. Dr Atul Hans, Principal cum Academic Director International Daily Rising School and also the Event Director for the tournament, thanked the Chairperson TRJ Academy Ricky Kumar, Director TRJ Academy Jonny Sharma and J&K Football Association for successfully facilitating the tournament and making it a huge success. He said, that the vision of International Daily Rising School is to guide the youth for their holistic development by channelizing their energy towards meaningful activities, thus bringing about a positive and constructive thinking.
