New Delhi, Nov 30 As superstar Rajinikanth met his office bearers on Monday in Chennai, sources from within his party Rajnikanth Makkal Mandaram said he will be starting his political party immediately ahead of the 2021 Tamil Nadu assembly election. At the party meeting on Monday, Rajinikanth will be seeking the opinion of his party functionaries, who insist that Rajinikanth should be the chief ministerial candidate of the party. This comes even as doctors have advised Rajinikanth against taking the political plunge over health concerns. The meeting with Rajini Makkal Mandram's district secretaries is being conducted at Rajinikanth’s Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai. A month earlier, Rajinikanth had said "at the right time, I will let the people know about my political stand after consulting the officebearers of Rajini Makkal Mandram." Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu during April-May 2021. On the agenda of Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated meeting, sources indicated that an announcement is expected following consultations since Rajinikanth had himself said that he would make his stand known after consulting Mandram's office-bearers.
