Why Nitish is losing his 'Mr Cool' image during Bihar election campaign

Patna, Oct 26 Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has an image of maintaining his cool in the trickiest of situations. Even in the face of the opposition onslaught, rarely has he reacted angrily in the past. This trend is fast dissipating during the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections campaign, with Nitish increasingly getting angry with those raising slogans against him during his rallies. The recurrent protests during his rallies are having a toll on his trademark “cool” public persona. During the ongoing election season there have been three occasions when he has lost his cool even before first phase of voting has taken place. What is striking is the fact that at most of the rallies where he has lost his cool, he is making a scathing attack on RJD president and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad’s family. On Sunday, Nitish Kumar had to face a hostile group of youth at an election rally in Muzaffarpur. They chanted "Nitish wapas jao (Nitish, go back)" slogan demanding employment. The youth kept interrupting Nitish Kumar with their chants as he spoke. A miffed Nitish Kumar, speaking at the rally retorted, “Kuchh logon ko na gyan hai na anubhav (Some people have neither knowledge nor experience),” hinting at Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD’s chief ministerial candidate, who has promised 10 lakh government jobs if the Mahagathbandhan is voted to power. Nitish went on say that while he was working on uniting the people.
