Jammu, Sept 24 It is universal truth now that National Conference (NC) has lost sheen in the Valley and elsewhere in the UT of J&K after significant developments of August 5, 2019 and its patron Dr Farooq Abdullah’s China remark is nothing but a failed attempt to mislead Kashmiris once again to continue with his 70 years old dynastic politics. This was stated by senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta in a statement issued here on Thursday. Lambasting Dr Farooq Abdullah for taking anti-India stance that after the abrogation of Article 370, Kashmiris do not feel or want to be Indian and they would rather prefer to be ruled by China, Kavinder said that before misleading people of Valley, the NC President should have first visited China himself and gone through the plights of Muslims living there especially Uighur Muslims as they have no rights as such. “China's Xinjiang province is known to have a majority population of Muslims, but people here are devoid of every right to follow their religion. Muslims here, known as Uighur Muslims, are not allowed to grow their beards or observe fast in the month of Ramadan, women are not allowed to wear a burqa, and they cannot celebrate their religious festivals. Even they are not allowed to offer prayers in mosques because constructing one is prohibited there and even they are barred from using Mohammed as their surname”, Kavinder said. The former Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that it is India and the Narendra Modi-led dispensation which holds special place for Kashmiris and any attempt by those running their family businesses in J&K since 1947 to revive tumult will be crushed by making people aware about the reality. “Whatever, Dr Farooq has averred is nothing but his sheer frustration and this highly condemnable stand of Farooq and his NC is going to prove as the last nail in the coffin of his Tanzeem which after the abrogation of Article 370 has become directionless with no agenda in sight”, he said. Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta condemned the killing of BJP’s Panchayat representative and chairman of Block Development Council (BDC) Khag, Bhupinder Singh. The former Deputy Chief Minister termed the killing as unfortunate, inhuman and horrendous. Expressing deep condolences to the family of deceased, he said that security forces will never allow the nefarious designs of enemies of India to see the light of the day. He assured that sooner than later those behind this barbaric act will be caught and brought before the court of law for delivering justice to Bhupinder Singh.
