Extra fare charges in Poonch at ascendence

Toseef R Ganai Poonch, Sep 18 Loot after pandemic of COVID-19 in Poonch has been started by transporters, all busses, minibusses and Tata Magic vehicles have increased the fare rate up to 100% to 150% by their own choice, are carrying overload up to 50%, whereas, authorities have issued guidelines to maintain social distancing during COVID 19 under which only 66% passengers can be carried with a hike of 30% in fare. But drivers have started to loot the public by both hands and authorities are unaware. Jammu and Kashmir Insaaf Movement (JKIM) in this regard, in public complaint from different areas has presented a representation to Assistant Regional Transport Officer Poonch and inspector MVD Poonch indicating some routes where transporters are taking extra fare from passengers. In memorandum Chairman JKIM Javid Iqbal Reshi identified some routes where throwing traffic norms behind the walls drivers are looting passenger, including Poonch to Chaktroo where drivers are taking rupees 30/passenger whereas from Poonch to Jhulas, Kuaneter, Bheinch, Bandichechian, Nangali, Chandak are taking rupees 20/passenger, in Mandi; from Mandi to Fatehpur, Azmabad, Lohailbeila are taking rupees 30/passenger, Mandi to Sathra, Plera, Bedar, Rajpura are taking rupees 20/passenger whereas crossing all limits drivers are charging rupees 50 per passenger from Madana to Haribudha (4km) road. Reshi urged concern authorities to issue fare price list and install it all passenger vehicles at earliest. ARTO Poonch Kughal Kishore and Inspector MVD Er. Zahoor Ahmed Tantray in this regard assured to investigate the matter and take strict action against law violators.
