BJYM seeks intervention of Lt Guv over hike in COVID-19 cases

Jammu, Sept 18 BJYM State Spokesperson, Chetan Wanchoo expressed serious concern over rising numbers of COVID-19 positive cases and urged the J&K administration to revive the healthcare system. In a statement issued to press, Wanchoo said, “Improper working of the administration has resulted in the rise in COVID-19 patients and death due to the pandemic in J&K,” he said. “The administration has failed to tackle the COVID19 pandemic and the serious issues in Jammu region,” Wanchoo said, adding that the scarcity of oxygen cylinders in majority of the hospital is also one of the major cause of death of corona patient. “The rising death rate due to Coronavirus has triggered fear among the masses,” he said, adding that the administration should take a thorough review of the health department in J&K. There is a dire need to implement strict Lockdown amid rising Covid-19 cases and authorities should take the initiatives at the earliest, Wanchoo suggested. BJYM Spokesperson said that Covid-19 SOPs and Guidelines are not being adhered to even in the healthcare institutions. “Administration is nowhere seen working at the ground level. It seems that the administration is in deep slumber as the Covid cases are still alarming and increasing day by day without any limit,” he said. Wanchoo also appreciated the concern shown by the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in view of the rising coronavirus cases in Jammu. He said that Dr Jitendra Singh is sending a team from the Union Health Ministry to assist the administration of Union Territory after surge in number of COVID positive cases in J&K. He asserted that BJP Government at the Centre is serious about the sufferings being faced by people of the Union Territory and extending all possible support amid COVID-19 pandemic. The BJYM Spokesperson appealed to the Lt Governor to intervene into the matter and take strict action against the authority concerned for showing laxity in their professional duties.
