New Delhi, July 9 Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who was asked around 128 questions over three days of interrogation, is being questioned again by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday in connection with the Rs 14,500 crore Sterling Biotech bank fraud case. The questioning is taking place at his residence by a team of three ED officers. Earlier, during the three days of questioning under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, Ahmed Patel was grilled over his alleged relationship with Gujrat-based Chetan Sandesara and Nitin Sandesara. Sources said that during Thursday's questioning, Ahmed Patel will be confronted with documentary evidence available with the agency in connection with the case. After the questioning last week, Ahmed Patel had said, "I have replied to all their [ED officials] questions to their satisfaction. They told me that my questioning is over. All the questions were based on the allegations and they do not have any direct evidence against me." Targeting the government, Ahmed Patel further said: "It is vendetta and political harassment against me. I don't know under whose pressure they [ED officials] are working." The financial probe agency is recording the statement of Ahmed Patel over his alleged connections with absconding accused Chetan Sandesara and Nitin Sandesara who are prime-accused in a scam. During the investigation earlier, a key witness had disclosed the connection between Chetan Sandesara, Ahmed Patel, his son Faisal Patel and son-in-law Irfan Siddiqui.
