Accountability, transparency core agenda of Govt: Zulfkar Ali

Minister for Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said the coalition government is committed to bring accountability and transparency in the governance.

Addressing public meetings at Gandhi Nagar and Udhampur, Zulfkar Ali said agenda of the government is to provide equal opportunity to every individual and late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed formed the coalition government with an aim to provide governance to the people at their doorsteps and to address basic problems of the masses.

He said the coalition government is committed to eradicating corruption and bringing transparency in the government.

"Mitigating miseries of the common masses is the prime agenda of the government and Agenda for Governance is constituted by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State", Choudhary Zulfkar said.

He said that every region is being treated equally and the Government is providing equal opportunity of growth and development to every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir. He assured the people that the government has initiated revolutionary steps under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to solve day today problems of the common masses.

The Minister asked the officers to make sure that a uniform scale for distribution of ration in all the districts was maintained, and said strict action would be taken against those officials who would be found fixing the scale at their own discretion.

He said the developmental activities initiated by the Government have changed the socio-economic profile of the people of the state especially those living in hilly and far flung areas.

He also stressed the need to develop trust and maintain coordination among local administration for speedy development and better delivery of Government schemes on the ground. He directed the concerned officers to take into confidence the local representatives while formulating new schemes, projects and other development programmes to ensure need based development.

Zulfkar sought cooperation and support from the people in the efforts of the Government. He said all projects and programmes initiated by government would benefit local populace.
