Playing with fire! Slipping down slopes of Nagrota sandstone hills!

How can we afford a smile on our faces when we know that we are in turbulent disaster zone as far as the population explosion in Jammu is concerned! It has been sudden and it has been explosive. The population explosion is not because of the fact that the people of Jammu are directly responsible but the fact is that the outsiders have come in and settled here as if it is next Bihar, Odisha, Chattisgarh and Myanmar in making. Villages together have shifted to vacant places in places such as Sidhra, Narwal, Bhatindi, Sunjwan, Channi Himmat, Qasim Nagar and elsewhere. The problem is not that why they have shifted but the fact is that they are eating into the meager resources available in Jammu and Kashmir. In one of the enclaves in Trikutanagar a family from Chattisgarh has occupied a double storyed house with rent being Rupees seven thousand. Its nice that initially one comes and pays but later on it can become a serious problem. Agreed that people of Jammu are not fond of earning money by taking the road full of pebbles and dry mud but taking the lines of least resistance will be a problem as the future unfolds itself. We always curse the past but we are the ones who are responsible for this predicament.
We sell to make sure that our tomorrow would be good but what about our own children? Has anyone thought about this? No one will take any action since it seems that politics of today suits the present day law makers. Had that not been the case Jews would not have been driven out of Berlin by Hitler and the Second World War would have never existed.
We the people of Jammu are living in fallacies. The traditions have waned since it is the commercial values that we have inculcated. I am not a pessimist but my life long experience tells me that we are playing with fire and in the process hurting ourselves. Today it may all fine but tomorrow who knows?
Everyone has the right to earn for example if a person is specialist in one way or the other then he should earn God forsaken places like Barabanki and Siwan. He should not be selling beetle leafs here. If there is specialist from Kathamandu then he should not be selling Momos here. If one has lived through the ages in drug dealing then Qasim Nagar massive drug outlet should not exist. I disagree that for earning a few dollars more we are getting settled into a swamp where culture and traditions are all about to be vanquished. I will add courtesy modern day politics!
All customs and reminiscences of old Jammu have almost vanished. It’s a place where bootleggers can be found in abundance. The departments like PDD, PHE and education are a sold of commodity. If a child could not study in places like Mongheyr, Gaya, Muzzafur, Hajipur then how he can study here! The high brand officials of various departments and law enforcement agencies should get their act together lest tomorrow we will share darkness full of problems! Please think it over!
