POOJA THAKUR JAMMU, JUNE 25 With just a few days remaining before the commencement of the revered annual Amarnath Yatra, a significant influx of Sadhus, has been observed arriving in Jammu. The arrival of these spiritual figures marks the beginning of the sacred pilgrimage season, which draws devotees from all corners of the country. The Ram Mandir in Jammu has become a focal point, bustling with activity as a large number of saints have gathered. The temple premises are filled with an air of devotion and spirituality, resonating with hymns, chants, and prayers as the saints prepare for the arduous journey to the holy Amarnath cave shrine. The Amarnath Yatra, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most significant annual events in Hinduism. Pilgrims undertake the journey to the Amarnath cave, located in the Himalayas, where a naturally occurring ice lingam, symbolizing Lord Shiva, is formed. The yatra is traditionally flagged off from the base camps in Pahalgam and Baltal, leading up to the cave shrine at an altitude of 3,888 meters. Local authorities in Jammu have made extensive arrangements to accommodate the influx of pilgrims and ensure their safety and comfort. Security measures have been intensified in light of the large gatherings, and various facilities including medical aid, food, and shelter are being provided to the arriving Sadhus and other pilgrims. "The arrival of the Sadhus in such large numbers underscores the spiritual significance of the Amarnath Yatra," said a temple committee member. "Their presence brings a profound sense of holiness and blessings to the city, as they prepare to embark on this sacred pilgrimage."
