POOJA THAKUR JAMMU, JUNE 19 “Life is a precious gift that we are given, and it's up to us to make the most of it”. These are the words of Shilpa Chaku Handoo, who was recently crowned ‘Mrs india universal 2023’. She said that every day brings new opportunities, challenges, and experiences and we have to accept those. “As Mrs. India Universal, I have had the privilege of meeting remarkable individuals and hearing their stories of triumph and resilience”, Handoo said while talking to Young Bites about her achievements. “Before covid I was not doing much just routine work as I am working women but pandemic changed all after my family got ill. I realized that one should live life to the fullest and try to achieve dreams. Beauty pageant is itself a challenge to prove oneself”, she said. Shilpa Chaku Handoo is Placement Officer in Jammu University and a keen Marathon Runner by passion. She is the winner of Mrs India Universal 2023 and winner of two titles also Mrs beautiful hair and Mrs best personality. India Supermodel 2023 by Dreamz production house “I have won many singing competitions at school and college level and am an IT graduate and MBA HR from Kurukshetra University. Modeling and fashion industry is new to me. It was because of the support extended by my husband and entire family stood behind me that I was able to achieve what I dreamt off in life”, Handoo said. Born in Kashmir, like lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus, her family shifted to Jammu after the eruption of militancy in 1990s of last century. She pursued her studies in Jammu. “I did my schooling from Jammu itself. After that I pursued my Engineering and MBA degrees from Kurukshetra University'', she said. “Seizing the moment, embracing change, prioritizing what matters, embracing failure as a stepping stone, and practicing gratitude are the key ingredients to living a regretfree life. Let us remember that each day is a precious gift, and it's up to us to make the most of it. So, let's embark on this beautiful journey with passion, purpose, and a zest for life.
