Vehicle lifting gang busted, accused arrested with 6 stolen motorcycles

Kathua, Aug 7 Police busted a vehicle lifting gang by arresting the accused along with 6 stolen motorcycles. Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua Romesh Kotwal said that a joint team from Police Station Lakhanpur and Police Post Basantpur apprehended one intra-state vehicle lifter, while hunt is going on to nab his brother. “The arrested person was identified as Mohd Altaf, son of late Peer Mohd Shah of Dungara Tehsil Billawar District Kathua, while his brother has been identified as Alkaz alias Sonu”, SSP said, adding that both the accused used to steal vehicles and later sell them on cheaper rates
