YB News Doda, Nov 25 Indian Army organised electrician training and classes for unemployed youth at Gei, Doda. This area has seen very little development and the scope of job opportunities for the youth from the region is also very limited. The people of the area are poor and have limited access to basic amenities. In such a situation, Indian Army as a stakeholder in peace and development of the region is taking steps for upliftment of the marginalized youth by providing them a skill set for self employment. This will not only generate goodwill for the Army but will also help in winning hearts and minds of the people which will ultimately contribute to the primary task of the unit of eliminating terrorism in the area. A total of 25 youth attended the training and class. The initiative is aimed at skill building and employment generation. Villagers appreciated the Indian Army’s prompt response to their popular demand of electrician classes.
