YB WEB DESK. Dated: 11/23/2021 12:43:19 PM

YB News Jammu, Nov 22 Advocate Ronik Sharma President All Jammu and Kashmir Pahari tribe Joint Forum strongly condemned the statement made by a prominent person of Gujjar community in an online debate, who had also remained on very senior positions in government. In a hand out Sharma said very unfortunate to say that such a tall personality from a particular community opposing Schedule Tribe status for Hindu- Sikh communities in J&K.He said the President of India is the supreme authority to decide the fate of Pahari tribe either they deserve or not nobody else will decide. The Government of India is well aware about the facts and figures and grave injustice done to Pahari tribe. He further said that our fight is not against any particular community, caste and religion. We are fighting for our identity which the government of india had denied us so far and failed to provide us Justice and equality. Pahari tribe surely deserves all legitimate and legal right without the interference of anybody. Sharma further suggested and request all the community members particularly to the media that this is a high time and first of its kind that BJP dispensation has made a promise to give reservation to Pahari community irrespective of their geography, religion. There are fringe elements within the community who are pressing hard for their petty political gains to dislodge and create a confusion which has been created from last seven decades in Jammu and Kashmir. This is high time that people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly the Pahari community, political parties irrespective of their religion should come forward and stress the inclusion of Pahari tribe in ST category, act as promised by the home minister of India in his recent visit in Jammu and Kashmir. This is one of the historical decision and Pahari community irrespective of political connotations should cherish the decision that has been promised with the people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly with the pahari community who are already politically persecuted and socially ,economically underprivileged. I would strongly urge and request the pahari community not to fall in the trap of people who are the beneficiaries of this conflict and just because of their mere political gains they are out to create a divide which will further alienate the Pahari and the people of Jammu and Kashmir he added.
