AAP will give Rs 1,000 a month to women in Punjab if voted to power: Arvind Kejriwal

Chandigarh, Nov 22 The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will give Rs 1,000 per month to each woman in Punjab if voted to power in the 2022 Assembly polls, Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday. Chief Minister of Delhi, Kejriwal is also the national convener of the AAP. Addressing a public meeting in Moga on Monday, Arvind Kejriwal said, "Today I want to make an announcement. Aam Aadmi Party will form the government in Punjab. We will transfer Rs 1,000 every month into the accounts of every woman who is more than 18 years old in the state." He added that elderly women, who are beneficiaries of the state's pension schemes, will continue to get their pension in addition to the Rs 1,000 promised by the AAP. The announcement by Arvind Kejriwal came on the first day of his twoday visit to poll-bound Punjab. In the previous Assembly polls, the AAP had emerged as the principal Opposition party in the state. With the AAP trying to expand its footprint in Punjab and Goa, Arvind Kejriwal has already promised up to 300 units of free electricity for each household in Punjab if voted to power in the state. The AAP has also promised the people of Punjab round-the-clock electricity supply and free treatment and medicines at state-run hospitals if voted to power.
