ONLINE STREAMING AND UNREAL PRESUMPTIONS

It was a time when movie theatres were the only place where one could enjoy different movies. Eventually, the television was invented, which slowly and gradually became a part of every household globally. Now there is yet another transition though it may not seem very eminent this time around. Over-The-Top (OTT) platform as it is widely known, is a means of providing a variety of content over the internet on-demand and to suit the requirements of every individual consumer. It has revolutionised the television industry at a global scale significantly resulting in a better quality of content available to stream as per one's requirements. Though it has been time efficient on one side of the spectrum, it has also emerged as one of the most widely used media to kill time and boost procrastination. With the variety of shows and series available to stream, it is always enough to drag down one towards its cons if not limited well. One should remember the motive behind making these series and shows. Inevitably, all of it has endeavoured towards financial roots. Made in a way to tempt the mind so as to keep the eyes plugged to the screens and mind engaged in a trap. Presentation is vital for the desired impact, and so nothing is showcased as it, not even something which claimed of being based on factual occurrences. It would be considered raw, plain, dull and unappealingly incapable of attracting a decent number of viewers in order to be viable towards revenue generation via advertising and other means alongside. A blend of conspiracies, drama, heroism and even impure fictionalities integrated within, is what drives a movie or series as fit for airing online. Anything other than this will make it unfit for consumption and printing green notes. Subsequently, being tagged as a failure. Whenever we see a movie or a series, it interesting to note how we get so indulged and plugged in even when we know it's not even happening in real life. Yet our brains unconsciously fall into this trap, relating oneself with the character of the protagonist or not much shockingly, even the antagonist, whoever seems much 'cooler' or even worse matching our sick mindset at this stage. Realising this difference is a need to draw a line between our life and the few entertaining breaks instead of the contrary. It is essential for a healthy balanced, and productive life.
