Police seize jewellery worth over Rs 1 crore

Kurnool, Apr 14 Police have seized diamond studded gold jewellery worth over Rs 1 crore from a tourist bus in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district. The jewellery was being smuggled to Madurai in Tamil Nadu without proper documents. On Wednesday, during the regular vehicular check at the Panchalingala check post, police found the illegal diamond jewellery. During the search, 25 rings, 14 earrings, 42 pendants, 10 bangles were found from 32-year-old Yaswanth Soni and 27-year-old Nikhil Raj Kumar Gonde who had received the collected jewellery from Banjara Hills in Hyderabad and were transporting it to Madhurai in Tamil Nadu. The total value of the seized property was found to be Rs 1,04,94,132. The case has been handed over to Taluka UPS, Kurnool for further investigation.
