Major bovine smuggling bid foiled at Chanderkot

Ramban, Apr 12 Ramban Police today have foiled a major bovine smuggling bid at Chanderkot and recovered 81 bovine animals which were being transported to Kashmir valley in seven different vehicles without prior permission from the appropriate authorities. According to reports a Chanderkot Police Station laid a special naka at Chanderkot under the supervision of SSP Ramban PD Nitya IPS, Additional SP Rajni Sharma. During the naka checking a team of SHO Police Station Chanderkot, Inspector Vijay Singh and his team, intervened seven vehicles which were carrying bovine animals. The drivers of the vehicles were asked to produce permission to transport these bovines but they failed. On physical checking of the vehicles the police team found the bovines loaded in these vehicles in a cruel manner. The police team immediately seized all the vehicles. The vehicles seized by Police Station Chanderkot include a truck bearing registration number JK02C-0532 driven by Amir Hussain son of Farooq Ahmed resident of Anantnag carrying 19 bovine animals; Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14D-1937 driven by Mohd. Yasoon son of Mohd. Sharif resident of Udhampur carrying 6 bovine animals; Truck bearing registration number JK19- 5790 Driven by Mohd. Isaac son of Ab. Gani resident of Banihal carrying 15 bovine animals; Truck bearing registration number JK13D-3551 driven by Masoor Hadd son of Gh. Nabi resident of Anantnag carrying 26 bovine animals; Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK14C-6135 driven by Mohd. Israel @ sonu son of Shah Mohd resident of Udhampur carrying 6 bovine animals; Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK03H-9777 driven by Aladin son of Ab. Gani, Udhampur carrying 05 bovine animals and an auto (load carrier) without number having Chasis No Jk2013 driven by Yousuf son of Siraj Din R/o Krimchi, Udhampur and carrying four bovine animals. A case under appropriate sections stands registered with the Police Station Chanderkot and further investigation into the case is in progress.
