New Delhi, Apr 12 A 17-year-old girl, who was repeatedly raped by her in-laws and fled a forced marriage, was rescued from a passenger train that arrived in Rajasthan's Kota from Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday. The victim was rescued from the Gorakhpur Avadh Express train by the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Later in the evening, she was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Kota. The victim was in a state of shock. However, with the help of counselling, she slowly started talking about what had happened. The victim said she was a second-year BA student in her hometown of Deoria in Uttar Pradesh. Her parents and maternal uncle got her married against her wishes on November 30, 2020, to a person from a nearby village. The minor alleged that after marriage, she was repeatedly raped by her husband's brother and sisterin- law's husband. When she narrated it to her husband and father-in-law, the men claimed that they had "purchased" her from her maternal uncle. They ordered her to do whatever was asked. The girl alleged that when she refused, her husband and father-in-law took her to an unknown place where her brother-in-law and husband of her sisterin- law took turns to rape her for months.
