New South Wales coach Phil Jacques confirms Warner return: He has worked really hard on his rehab

New Delhi, Mar 1 David Warner, 34, is ready for his cricket comeback as he is all set to appear for the New South Wales side for the Marsh One- Day Cup. The Blues started their campaign in the domestic One Day competition on February 15 without Warner, who last made an appearance in the 4th Test against India at the Gabba. Blues coach Phil Jacques has confirmed the return of the left-handed opener, replacing the injured Dan Hughes, as he was added to NSW's squad that will lock horns with South Australia, o n Thursd a y (March 4), in A d e - laide. Earlier this m o n t h , Warner opened up on his groin injury which he incurred during the 2nd ODI against India in November 2020 and said that he will have to learn to live with the pain fo the next 6 to 9 months "We all know Davey's quality as a player in all formats and it's great to see him back for the Blues for this game," said Phil Jaques. "He has worked really hard on his rehab and has been great around the group when he's been at training. It will be fantastic to have his experience around the team over the coming weeks." NSW started their campaign with a win against Victoria and won the game by 59 runs. Thursday’s fixture against South Australia will be their second rubber in the tournament. Getting b a c k Warner will be a huge boost for the Blues, led by captain Pat Cummins, while Steve Smith continues to be out with an elbow injury. Nick Larkin has been named as the replacement Smith in NSW’s one-day squad.
