Natural cave of Lord Shiva discovered in Chenani

Akash Singh Udhampur, Mar 01 A natural cave has been found between the Madha Bridge and Zero Point on the Jammu-Srinagar highway about two km from Chenani tehsil of Udhampur district. About 20 feet long and around six feet height of the cave was discovered during construction work on Chenani- Sudhmahadev-Doda road. Information about this natural cave spread like wildfire in the area and people from adjoining villages started visiting the site. The visitors are going inside the cave and taking photos. The cave was seen on 24th of February 2021 by a local and people from surrounding belts also visited the spot to pay obeisance at the natural cave and presently around 1000 to 1500 people are visiting the place on daily basis. Some locals claimed that the cave houses natural Shivling while the colour and shapes of some rocks inside is also different from others. The tourists of Patnitop, Nathatop Sanasar and Srinagar reaching Chenani are also visiting the cave to have ‘darshan’ of Lord Shiva,” Locals request the administration as well as a working company to construct the temple of lord Shiva in the front of the cave and divert the Chenani-Sudhmahadev- Doda road normally.
