Mayor, Randhawa starts macadamisation works in Channi Himmat

Y B News Jammu, Mar 01 Continuing his endeavour to provide better development & Civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation today in presence of Vikram Randhawa former MLC, Neena Gupta Councillor of ward no. 50, kick started the blacktopping of various roads near Ambika store sector-7, Channi Himmat, Jammu. Dr. Nirmal Kamal, Adv. Ishant Gupta prominent BJP leaders and other inhabitants of the ward as well as concerned contractor were also remained present there during the drive. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demand of the locals as most of the main roads as well as interior ones were partially damaged and the passersby as well as vehicle owners especially two wheelers were often skipped off and fell down and got themselves seriously injured due to big pits/holes. The concerned Councillor has taken lot of initiatives and at last the much awaited blacktopping work has started today by the PWD with an allotted funds of Rs. 26 lacs only and directed the concerned contractor to complete the work within the stipulated time frame by applying best quality & durable construction material upto the entire satisfaction of the locals. He further said that all the Municipal Councillors are trying their best to provide more & better development & civic facilities to the citizens of Jammu from the last two & half years as soon as they were elected as Municipal Councillors and major projects such as Gandola at Bage Bahu/Maha Maya Temple, Multi Storey parking at Bus Stand, installing of more than 70,000 LED street lights in 75 wards of the city, commissioning of open Air GYMS in various parks of city, installation of beautiful fountains in different rotaries. He further said that construction of another multitier parking at Panjtirthi Jammu, construction of Goshalla at Nagrota with all types of modern facilities as well as other such types of major projects which were in pipeline have also been started by the department. Later, Mayor in presence of Kuldeep Singh Chib, Chairman Social Justice Committee, Mohinder Kumar Bhagat, Councillor of ward no. 60, Suraj Parkash Padha former Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, Suresh Khajuria BJP Mandal President also kick Started the upgradtion as well as remaining development works of Shamshan Ghat situated at Tommal in ward no. 60. Darshan Chowdhary, Anju Gupta & other prominent inhabitants of the ward and Ashwani Kumar, Executive Engineer, Deep Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Rakesh Kumar Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of Div-III, JMC were also remained present there. Mayor told that this cremation ground lacks basic facilities as large number of general public from ward no. 60 and other adjoining wards who comes to attend the last rites of their known deceased ones were facing great hardships due to non availability of basic requirements and after the sincere efforts of the concerned councilor the upgradtion work has been started today with an allotted amount of Rs 25 lacs only and also appeal to the general public to come forward an cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all types of development activities being undertaken in Jammu city. So that aim of “Swachh Bharat Mission” can be achieved successfully to make Jammu neat, clean & green city.
