Dr Tahir seeks compensation for kin of militant attack victim

Y B News Jammu, Mar 01 Expressing the condolence and solidarity with family of victim and son of famous eatery owner, who was succumbed to injuries 12 days after being shot by militants in valley, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Spokesperson Dr Tahir Chowdhary on Monday slams administration and government for their failure to provide specialized treatment to victim. The son of the owner of popular eatery Krishna Dhaba, who was shot at by terrorists on February 17, died at a hospital here on Sunday. Akash Mehra was undergoing treatment at the SMHS Hospital for the past 10 days. Informing that the victim struggled for life atleast 11 days before losing his life, Dr Tahir Chowdhary emphasized that victim could have been save if government had took crucial steps at earlier stages. “The government and administration failed to provide specialized treatment to the victim as he can be airlifted to anywhere in the country," he added. "No one understand the pain of family. The condolence messages may continue to pour for 1 week or more but the family will feel pain forever," he added. He added that this is the second attack in Valley on the non-Kashmiri by the militants, earlier a goldsmith was shot dead at his shop on December 31. Such attacks are triggering panic among the non Kashmirs including migrated labour, workers and others which are looking for livelihood in valley Dr Tahir Chowdhary said that the government must chalk out strategy to curb the incident of violence and specially attacks on non-Kashmiri. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to provide adequate compensation to the family of victim at earliest and security for non- Kashmiris in Valley.
