PAKISTAN AND TURKEY COLLUDE TO DISCREDIT INDIA

T K NANDANAN An orchestrated move by certain Islamic nations like Pakistan and Turkey to brand India as a country that suppresses human rights in Kashmir is nipped in the bud by India at the at the UN Human Rights Council where India hit back accusing Pakistan of political repression in Baluchistan. India flagged Islamabad’s poor human rights record, especially in its own treatment of minorities. It may be recalled that India did not spare Turkey too in lambasting as it is a close friend of Pakistan. They are so much intimately closed that when Pakistan is in trouble, Turkey will start crying. So, New Delhi blasted the two nations while exercising its ‘Right of Reply under the High-Level Segment of the 46th Session of the Human Rights Council.’ Pakistan is a country sans etiquette or ethical sense and so it has no moral scruple at all in perpetrating more and more contemptible activities towards India. Now with the security forces having jacked up surveillance, Pakistani terrorists cannot cross into India and cause mayhem in our land. Surely, Pakistan is frustrated because all their bids to have access to our land have been tightly blocked. But India must not be complacent with our achievement in this regard. It is pertinent to note that reports have surfaced that Turkey is allegedly preparing to send fighters from East Syria to Jammu and Kashmir to wreak havoc on India. The reports come after continuous attempts by Turkey to make India’s internal matter of Kashmir an international issue and help its confidant Pakistan. So, India should be very cautious of the developments in this regard. Pakistan is a close ally of Turkey and they are birds of a feather and hellbent on destabilizing India. It is pertinent to note that India has highly displeased with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as it had repeatedly allowed itself to be used as a platform of Pakistani propaganda against India. Meanwhile, India said, “We are not surprised that Pakistan’s representative has chosen to misuse this august forum yet again. Pakistan’s continued misuse of various platforms to engage in baseless and malicious propaganda against India is not new. We reiterate that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable part of India. The steps taken by the government in these UTs are our internal matters.” India further said, “As a country with one of the world’s worst human rights records, Pakistan would do well to put its own house in order, before venturing to point a finger at India. The violence, institutionalized discrimination and persecution faced by Pakistan’s minorities including Christians, Sikhs and Hindus has continued unabated.” Pakistan, perpetrating such persecution against the minorities in their own country, is now pointing out the baseless allegation of atrocities allegedly committed by India. This is the problem with Pakistan. It will never learn to become a good neighbor to India.
