YB News Jammu, Dec 1 Dogra College of Education organized webinar on the theme “Ending the HIV epidemic resilience and impact on the occasion of “World AIDS Day” in collaboration with NSS unit of College on 1st of December 2020. The resource person on the occasion was Dr. Sandeepa Bailam, Asst. Prof. Deptt of Community medicine ASCOMS, Jammu. The webinar was begun with a welcome address by Amarjeet Kour, Lecturer Dogra College of Education. The resource person on the occasion shared her views regarding AIDS virus origin, factor responsible for causing epidemic and HIV prevention, treatment tools currently available in order to cure HIV epidemic from the society and she also gave awareness to the students about AIDS a global epidemic. In this webinar resource person shared about the overall data of disease burden in India and the rate of HIV in body fluids, the mode of transmission, its incubation period, HIV infection and anti body response risk avoidance and risk reduction approaches to combat with HIV virus. Webinar was attended by students of B.Ed (Sem-III). Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education, Dr. Shefali Sharma, Academic Coordinator and staff members of Dogra College of education attended the webinar. A formal vote of thanks was given by Ritu Bhagat, Lecturer who thanked the revered speaker.
