Army organizes traffic awareness drive

Doda, Nov 30 A Traffic Awareness Drive was conducted at Bhagwah by Indian Army. Bhagwah Tehsil of Doda district is plagued by frequent traffic accidents which lead to loss of precious lives. Most of the accidents are caused due to poor traffic awareness and limited knowledge of traffic rules. The awareness drive focused to target the two wheeler and four wheeler drivers in specific as well as public in general by spreading awareness on road safety and traffic rules. 06 Taxi / Bus drivers, 03 Two wheeler drivers and 35 Civilians were educated on good habits about safe driving and traffic discipline. Drivers were sensitized on severe effects of alcohol and drug abuse on safe driving. They were also educated on Importance of preventive maintenance of vehicles and road worthiness. On the spot sensitization of four and two wheeler drivers plying on the road was conducted by the soldiers with various informative and motivational pamphlets. Drivers Association Bhagwah and local administration whole heartedly appreciated the effort by Army in spreading traffic awareness.
