Bengaluru, Nov 30 Karnataka minister and BJP leader KS Eshwarappa has said the party will give tickets to any Hindu community, be it Lingayats, Kurubas, Vokkaligas, but never to a Muslim candidate. In a shocker, Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa said, “We might give the party ticket to any community of Hindus. Whoever we might give it to -- maybe Lingayats, Kurubas, Vokkaligas, or Brahmins, but definitely it will not be given to Muslims.” The minister was talking about the upcoming Belagavi Lok Sabha bypoll, which he noted was a predominantly Hindu-dominated region, reported The New Indian Express. According to NIE, Eshwarappa also said, “We will give tickets to Hindutva proponents, I don't know whether we will give it to followers of Sangolli Rayanna, Kittur Chennamma (freedom fighters) or Shankaracharya.” Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday deferred at a last minute a proposal.
