Volunteer who fixed farmers’ tractors burnt alive as car catches fire

New Delhi, Nov 30 A57-year-old man, identified as Janak Raj, was burnt alive after the car he was sleeping in caught fire. Janak Raj had gone to the Delhi-Haryana border to repair six tractors of the farmers, in solidarity with their protest against the Centre's farm laws. Janak Raj was a resident of the Dhanolua village in Barnala district. He was a cycle repairman by profession and wanted to repair the tractors of the farmers to extend his support to the protest. After finishing his work Dhanak Raj went to sleep inside a vehicle. However, the vehicle caught fire causing Dhanak Raj's tragic death. Krishna Singh Chhanna, leader of one of the farmer unions said the Government has to compensate for Janak Raj's death with Rs 20 lakh to his kin and a government job to his son. He said until these demands are met, Janak's Raj last rites will not be performed.
