J&K Bank conducts State level review meet of RSETIs

Srinagar, Oct 17 J&K Bank conducted a State Level Review Meeting on the functioning of Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) in the Kashmir Division yesterday at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarter. Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, J&K Government Ms. Sheetal Nanda (IAS) chaired the meeting attended by State Coordinator RSETIs (J&K) Ashok Kumar Razdan, President J&K Bank, Sunil Gupta, Vice President J&K Bank Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, AGM NABARD L. R. Dogra, Chief Accounts Officer (CAO) State Himayat programme Vijay Kumar, and Regional Manager SBI Gulzar Ahmad Allai, all the Directors of RSETIs of Kashmir division and Lead District Managers (LDMs). The Chairperson took stock of the performance of RSETIs under the Annual Action Plan including training, settlement and credit linkage besides reviewing the position of land allotment and construction of RSETI premises and progress on account of the execution of lease deeds by LDMs with concerned District Development Commissioners (DDCs). Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson stressed on the need to put in concerted efforts in order to achieve the envisaged targets. She underlined the need for doing a microanalysis of the issue of low credit linkage in Srinagar, Shopian and Kulgam districts. “Besides imparting training and helping develop requisite skill-sets, RSETIs have been established to improve the standard of living of people and assist them in self-employability”, she said. Issues related to reimbursement of training expenses to RSETIs by Himayat, third party assessment of working of RSETIs, Bank-wise achievements under MUDRA scheme and conduct of training for Skill Development Program also featured in the agenda of the meeting. On the occasion, the Chairperson advised the concerned officials to expedite the process of identification of land for RSETI premises and improve the number of candidates sponsored under the MUDRA scheme. Highlighting the need to create financial awareness at a micro level, President J&K Bank Sunil Gupta advised the LDMs and Directors of RSETIs to coordinate well in order to ensure the proper utilization and mobilization of resources besides improving the functional parts of the training institutes for enhanced performance.
