There seems no takers to ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’—the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project—in Jammu. The taxpayers’ money spent on generating awareness regarding cleanliness under the Mission Swachh Bharat seems to a boondoggle as Jammuites continue to throw garbage here and there instead of using dustbins put around by the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
While visiting in and around the city one can easily find heaps of garbage lying nearby dustbins whereas the dustbin can be seen empty. The picture which was clicked by our photojournalist Abhisekh Baru at Ambphala clearly depicts the mindset of the people in Jammu. We request all the citizens to use dustbins and don’t throw garbage here and there. It is our city; help JMC to keep it clean.
