Patnitop, a hill station about 100 km from Jammu near Katra, had its first snowfall of the season and tourists are excited to get please after being at this mesmerizing place, but it is unfortunate instead of promoting & boosting the tourism at Patinitop, the authorities have not allowed the tourists from Udhampur to Patnitop.
Notably, the men and machines are not working to clear the road of snowfall and therefore it is not motorable, Which witnesses the callous and careless approach of the Patnitop development authority.
Over hundreds of tourists, vehicles are stranded at various places at Jammu, Udhampur who want to reach Patnitop area to enjoy the snowfall.
“The owners of the hotels and restaurant have anguish for this ignorant attitude of administration, we are here to welcome the tourists so that our workers and employees can have some income. But it is very unfortunate, at this season tourists are not allowed from Udhampur”, said Rajesh Gupta, a social activist of Patnitop.
He further said, ”we appeal to District Administration to redress the grievances of owners & employees of Hotels at Patnitop”.
It is requisite that authority should be active in snow clearance and providing other facilities so that tourism at Patnitop can be boost in winter.
Pertinently, the snowfall has created its white magic and the tourists in this hill station are overjoyed. Halting at many places along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the tourists were seen shaking a leg.
Being close to Katra, a lot of Vaishno Devi pilgrims want to land up here to see the snow.
Heavy snowfall has also caused traffic jams along the highway. The weather conditions are a major challenge to a state administration. There is no sign of sun yet and weather department forecasts more rains and snow in the next few days.
