Acquiescence with manufacturing guidelines for insecticides

Due to non-compliance of pesticide and insecticide manufacturers with manufacturing guidelines issued by the Horticulture Department, there occurred a fast growing risk toward humans’ health and the environment.
However, the representative of pesticide and insecticide manufacturers, have always misguided the administration and department of Horticulture regarding the manufacturing and utilization of pesticide in the state.
Notably, it is difficult to derive benefits from the use of pesticides in the horticulture sector, as the excessive use of pesticides have resulted in serious implications for health humans and the environment. Thus, it is need of the hour to sensitize dealers and stockists of pesti cide companies as well as to make the farmers aware of various pros and cons of use of pesticides and of its scientific utilization.
The farmers don’t know the various pros and cons of use of pesticide, which is becoming a major problem for good harvesting, while for agriculture growth the farmers must be made aware about the scientific utilization. It is required that state government would conduct the various awareness camps at the rural level of remote areas of the state.
Meanwhile, the varied pricings by pesticide and insecticide manufacturers also creating havoc among farmers of the state. The government should ensure uniform pricing of their products across the state.
Particularly, the state government should formulate comprehensive horticulture policy with inputs from experts in the State which will cover all aspects of the sector and give a roadmap for catalyzing a horticulture revolution. To check malfunction of manufacturers there should be large-scale intervention from the Horticulture Department in terms of scientific inputs, selection of plants, marketing and promotion recommendations.
