On the eve of children’s day, YoungBites team celebrated it with the children who are living in Bal Niketan, Ved Mandir, Ambphalla, Jammu. The children in Bal Niketan are from various age groups starting from kindergarten to 16-17 years of age.
This Bal Niketan is a home away from home. Although they get good facilities but a home is a home. Some of the children are staying here as they are orphans, some are staying here as their parents are not able to bear their expenses while some are here as their parents live in far flung villages which lack basic facilities.
When the YoungBites correspondent enquired from the children that whether they miss their homes, then most of them said that yes they miss their parents. Due to compulsions of some sort, their parents do not meet their children frequently. Many children are able to meet their parents only in summer break, some parents meet their children weekly. Many wished that on Children’s Day they wish that there parents would have come to Bal Niketan to meet them.
Children were quiet excited to celebrate the day with the YoungBites team. YoungBites team wishes a very bright future for all these children.
